I am a native San Franciscan, and a UC Hastings College of the Law Graduate, with two undergraduate degrees from San Jose State University in the Social Sciences. I have a solid background, spanning over two decades in Civil, Criminal, and Administrative Litigation. I found that despite my best efforts and “wins” for my clients, the litigation process was often wounding to all participants and that Alternative Dispute Resolution was a welcome opportunity in many cases. I have been a Mediator since 1996 and Arbitrator for the San Mateo Superior Court from 1992 until my move to Santa Cruz in 1999. Since the nineties, I have sat as a Judge Pro Tempore for various Bay Area Counties, including San Francisco and Santa Cruz Counties. Since 2000 I have worked as an Administrative Hearing Officer Statewide and Santa Cruz County. My experience as a jurist and a neutral have given me a unique perspective and assist me in analyzing legal issues and understanding my divorce clients in litigated and out-of- court Family Law Divorce Cases.
I have dedicated much time over the last two decades on my own personal growth and soul journeying with universal spiritual principles at the base, including work at Mercy Center Convent in Burlingame, California, part of the Archdiocese of San Francisco and my beloved Twelve Step Programs. My participation in these organizations gives me a deep compassion and tools beyond legal - to help people during difficult conflicts and transition periods. I “see the big picture” and come with a bit of maturity and wisdom, along with knowledge of the resources in the divorce community, not only in Santa Cruz County but also throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area, where I have practice law for over twenty (20) years.
